The River Song Cohousing community in Eugene, Oregon, offers a harmonious blend of private and shared spaces, fostering a close-knit and collaborative environment. Homes

River Song Cohousing is comprised of 28 private homes with five distinct floor plans ranging from 2-bedroom to 4-bedroom layouts, including single-level flats and two-story residences. Each unit is a complete home, containing its own kitchen as well as private outdoor spaces. The interior spaces favor open floor plans that combine functional areas for multiple uses. Additionally, there are private garages located adjacent to the open parking areas.

Common Spaces

The heart of River Song Cohousing lies in its collection of common spaces, which foster a sense of community and togetherness. The common house is a hub of activity and connection, featuring a shared kitchen and a spacious dining area where residents gather for communal meals. In addition to the dining area, the common house offers a variety of amenities, including a kids’ playroom, laundry room, mailroom, lounge, guest rooms, arts and crafts room, and a music room. These spaces cater to the diverse needs and interests of the community members, providing opportunities for recreation, creativity, and relaxation.

Outside the common house, residents enjoy the patio and garden, where they socialize, unwind, and bask in the natural surroundings. The outdoor gardens offer spaces for residents to nurture plants, grow their own produce, and maintain bee colonies. The community also features a bike storage barn and woodshop, catering to residents’ active and creative pursuits. The open parking area is intentionally located on the outskirts of the community and a network of walking paths weaves throughout.

River Road Neighborhood

Situated in the charming River Road neighborhood of Eugene, River Song Cohousing benefits from its proximity to a vibrant and well-established community. Residents have access to a range of local amenities, including shops, restaurants, parks, and recreational facilities. The neighborhood provides a backdrop for residents to engage with the broader Eugene community while enjoying the unique benefits of cohousing.

River, Greenway, and West Bank Path

River Song Cohousing is nestled alongside the Willamette River, offering residents breathtaking views and direct access to nature. The 12-mile bike path connects to downtown Eugene and Springfield, enabling residents to easily reach the city centers for work, leisure, or exploration. Moreover, residents have the privilege of helping to maintain the greenway’s mature Filbert grove, which produces delicious hazelnuts.
